DIY seasonally infused vodka

So I have been wanting to do this for at least 6 months now but just never got around to do it. I was at the store a couple months ago and picked up some cranberries and oranges. I thought it would be something fun for the holidays and I ended up cracking it open on NYE.

I ended up letting it sit for 8 weeks on accident. But it made it even more flavorful.

It looks beautiful in the glass bottle and is a great gift for a birthday or holiday! I like to serve it over a big circle ice cube.Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Ingredients:

1 glass bottle (Ikea)

1 bag of fresh cranberries

2 oranges or tangerines peels and juice

2 tbls sugar

1 tbls vanilla extract

1 bottle of vodka (I used 750ml and had extra)

Heat medium sauce pot on medium heat. Toss cranberries, sugar and vallina in the pot and heat until cranberries pop and release a little juice.

Use a peeler or cut your orange rind into 1/2 strips and juice into bowl.

Pour all of your ingredients into a glass bottle with an air tight lid.

Steep for at least 3 weeks and enjoy.

You could try any combination of liquor and fruits. Let me know if you try it!

Thanks,

Haley
