NYFW 2016

Hello! Hope you’re enjoying the beginning of spring! This past week I had the honor of working in New York during Fashion Week and also visiting New York for the first time! Phyto, the hair care line we use at Janet St. Paul (the salon where I work), had a competition. The competition was based on braid photos, hashtagged #phytousa, posted on Instagram, which were submitted from stylists all over the world. Phyto picked three winners who each won a trip to NYC to work along side Orlando Pita for Derek Lam’s show at NYFW. I was selected! I’m going to share with you some behind-the-scenes photos, where I ate in NYC, and what I did!

The first few days I was there it snowed! I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen falling snow, being from Texas.

The first night in town I had the honor of going to dinner with Francois, the President of Phyto. He is such a wonderful person and has a great perspective on hairstylists and what we do in this industry.

I love going to things like this whether its in Austin or traveling. My mom and I found a lot of great handmade jewelry. Alongside  great food and anything else you could imagine.

I saw some beautiful art on Elizabeth Street.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you feel like you got a glimpse of New York and maybe some great spots to check out if you ever get to visit.

I also got to do an interview about my experience working in fashion week, give it a watch!
