Austin to Boston

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to Boston to visit my soul sister, Macy. She is currently residing there while her husband finishes at Harvard and I wanted to visit before they moved back down. Macy and I went to cosmetology school back in 2012 with each other. I am thankful we keep in touch and every time we see each other we can pick up right where we left off.

I have always liked Punch Brothers but somehow their last album, The Phosphorescent Blues got away from me. But this song ‘Julep’ Macy played in the car has been my jam since I got back.

It was wonderful to just have a girls weekend and chit chat. No rushing around or trying to do a million things just taking it easy. Which I find is hardest to do when traveling because you want to see everything. We went to some great markets with a lot of handcrafted goods, vintage things and food. I ate some of the best vegan food I have ever had at Veggie GalaxyFoMu Ice Cream, and Wild Rice Cafe.

I finally got to pick fresh produce. I have been wanting to do this for a long time and have tried to do it in Austin but always miss the time of year. We went to Honey Pot Hill Orchards, picked lots of apple and ate apple cider donuts which were amazing. You could tell by the huge lines to purchase them.Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Guy’s Grocery Games was our choice of entertainment for the weekend completely horrible and great at the same time. All and all a great trip. It felt good be to be around someone with the same interests.

Thanks of reading!
